A BODY has been found during the search for a missing woman who vanished from a Scottish town.
Helen Bunney, 63, was reported missing by friends and family from the North Berwick area of East Lothian.
They contacted police earlier this week after they became worried when they hadn't heard from her in a couple of days.
Loved ones said this was unusual for her and they were becoming increasingly concerned for her.
She was last seen in the afternoon on Tuesday, May 7, in the Lochbridge Road area of the town.
A frantic search was underway as cops appealed for help from the public to find her.
Although they weren't sure what Helen was last seen wearing, she usually dressed in a top and trousers.
Helen also sometimes wore glasses.
Tragically, police have now confirmed that a body was found near North Berwick during their searches.
They said the grim discovery was made at around 7.20pm last night.
The body is yet to be formally identified.
However, Helen's family have been informed.

A statement from Police Scotland said: "Around 7.20pm on Wednesday, 8 May, 2024, the body of a woman was found near North Berwick.
"Formal identification is still to take place however the family of Helen Bunney, who had been reported missing from North Berwick, have been informed.
"There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
