DOGE starts FAA purge by firing hundreds of workers after deadly plane crashes
The Trump administration is firing hundreds of workers at the Federal Aviation Administration, cutting a swath through staff weeks after personnel shortages were cited as a factor in the fatal mid-air collision at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. David Spero, president of the Professional Aviation Safety Specialists, said the first emails were sent to probationary workers late on Friday night. He said hundreds had received notice that their employment was terminated.
