Two historic 1930s movie theaters 30 yards apart both to shut this week
Two iconic Los Angeles movie theaters are set to close later this week. The Regency Village Theater in Westwood and its nearby sister theatre, the Bruin, will close on Thursday, their operator confirmed on Sunday. Regency Theaters, which manages 20 locations in California, has run the two cinemas - on either side of Broxton Avenue - for the last 14 years but its leases for the properties end later this month.
